Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker may not be working properly if you don't hear any sound or distorted sound coming from it.
Make sure you know what to do to my fix speaker if you can't understand what a person is saying or if you hear cracking or static.
Verify the Sound Settings on Your Computer.
Ring/Silent switch? If so, shift the switch forward so that orange doesn't appear on your screen. If you're using an iPad, you can also access Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner and turning off Silent Mode.
It is important to make sure that Do Not Disturb is turned off under Settings > Focus.

Remove and Clean the Receivers and Speakers.
Remove all screen protectors, films, and cases from your phone. The speaker opening should be checked to see if it is obstructed or unclean. Check the receiver on your iPhone just to make sure it isn't dusty or blocked. If necessary, use a small, soft-bristled brush to clean the speaker or receiver opening. It is important that the brush is thoroughly cleaned and dried before use.
Make Sure Your Device's Audio Is Working Properly.
Dial-up your ringtone volume by moving the Ringer and Alerts slider back and forth several times in the Sound Settings menu. It's possible that your speaker needs to be serviced if you don't hear any sound or if the speaker button on the Ringer and Alerts slider is darkened. Contact Apple Support if you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Make a Phone Call if You Can.
Turn on the speakerphone on your iPhone and see if you can hear anything. Use FaceTime on an iPad or iPod touch to communicate. If the problem persists, or if you hear static or crackling, it's possible that your network or reception is to blame. Use a new phone number or try making the call later.
In some nations and places, FaceTime is not available.
